Family Terms
By creating a profile with the Respite NOW APP, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read carefully.
Respite NOW is a technology platform (APP) that matches qualifications of a registered Respite NOW Worker (Third Party Care Provider) with the specific needs of a registered Respite NOW Family.
By agreeing to the Respite NOW Terms of Service I acknowledge that Respite NOW, CLTH and the hosting agencies are not the employer(s) of the Respite Worker and that these terms of service supersede any previous agreed terms of service and Respite NOW has the authority to update and modify the access of service at anytime and that you will be asked to agree to the terms of service. Respite NOW also reserves the right to deny access to the APP at their discretion for inadequate information, inappropriate or dishonest behaviour.
By creating a profile with the Respite NOW APP, you are agreeing to the terms of service that have been created by Respite NOW. It is important that all family members who are hiring workers through the APP are registered on the APP.
Liability
Respite NOW, CLTH and their hosting agencies shall not be liable, either directly or indirectly for any actions of the Respite NOW workers or Respite NOW families.
I acknowledge and agree that Respite Now, CLTH and the hosting agencies are not responsible for any loss, injury, or damage to persons or property resulting from or relating to any service provided by a worker through the Respite Now APP. I will institute no proceeding nor make any claim or demand against Respite Now, CLTH nor the hosting agencies in respect of any matter resulting from or relating to these services.
Furthermore, I acknowledge and agree that respite workers are not employees of Respite Now, CLTH nor the hosting agencies, and Respite Now, CLTH nor the hosting agencies are not responsible for any work that they may do or fail to do. It is my responsibility to arrange with the worker what work he or she will undertake; when and how often such work will be done and by what means. I understand that I am entering into a legally binding arrangement with any Respite NOW worker I hire, and I am solely responsible for deciding on the terms of that relationship, including manner and terms of payment, and terms of service.
Respite Now nor the hosting agencies in no way guarantees the quality or dependability of the workers services or of the worker. I acknowledge and agree that Respite Now, CLTH and the hosting agencies does not provide the worker or me with insurance coverage of any kind, and that I am responsible for verifying or arranging such coverage, if desired.
Requirements of Families
I understand that by registering as a family I am deemed the employer of the Respite NOW worker that I approve for the care appointment. I will be making the decision on what worker I hire, time and location of care and ensuring that I have made every effort to ensure safety of both my family member that requires care and the worker.
I agree to maintain a high level of respect for the workers that I hire through the Respite NOW APP.
***Families are also encouraged to connect with the worker prior to their first appointment.
Cancellation Policy
I agree to provide ample time before the cancellation of an appointment, and if a notice is not provided 24 hrs before the start time of the cancellation, I understand that I may receive a low rating from the worker.
Payment Process
I agree to the Respite NOW payment process as explained below:
Payments agreed upon or made directly from families to workers are not the responsibility of Respite Now, CLTH nor the hosting agencies.
If an agency has brokered funds through Community Living Trent Highlands, the agency will need to provide consent for the Respite NOW coordinator to contact the finance department to arrange for payments prior to posting an appointment. If the agency have funds brokered through another agency the agency will need to arrange for the agency to send a pre-authorized payment to Community Living Trent Highlands to hold in trust for the agencies online respite needs.
The host agencies are Community Living Trent Highlands, Community Living and Respite Northumberland, Counselling Services of Belleville And District, Community Living Prince Edward County, Your Support Services Network, Family Respite Services Windsor/ Essex, Kids Thrive Sault Ste. Marie, Participation House, Wesway Thunder Bay & District, Kenora & Rainy River and Inclusion Northumberland
